“Cancer is a word everyone knows but never wants to hear. Most people know leukemia, breast cancer, and prostate cancer. Neuroblastoma, on the other hand, is mysterious to most. Wade’s Army wants to change that. Because we believe that the only way to conquer this extremely aggressive childhood cancer is to give it a name.” - Heather DeBruin
A very powerful statement that continues to empower Wade's Army as we enter our fifth year. November 12, 2016 marks five years since young Wade DeBruin passed away from the devastating pediatric cancer, Neuroblastoma, and we honor this day. As we kick off our 2016 campaign, it is important to reflect on the Good all of you have helped us accomplish.
Wade's Army Accomplishments:
- Over $260,000 raised
- 3,000 supporters
- 2 Phase 1 Pediatric Cancer Experimental Clinical Trials funded
- 8 Families fighting Neuroblastoma financially supported including Wesley, Ethan and Imogen.
We continue to find motivation from all of the members of Wade's Army and the impact this disease has on families. On July 19, 2016, we lost one of our Hero's Jack. With a heavy heart, Wade's Army will continue Jack's journey and do everything in our power to fight this disease and support the families in need.
Every army needs a uniform!
Use your power for good and join Wade's Army this year! We would like to introduce the official 2016 uniform for all of the supporters to wear on Wade's Day, Saturday, November 12, 2015!
Last year's #JoinTheFightFriday campaign was a huge success, and this year we will make each of the 15 Fridays leading up to Wade's Day very special. Our mission will be to educate the world exactly what Neuroblastoma is, the impact it has families, and bring awareness to what limited resources this cancer receives.
Rock your Wade's uniform each Friday and we'll post a Fact to include in your post. Each week we'll select a winner and send you a limited edition Wade's Army prize.
Start A Fundraising Team
Wade's Army needs good people to join the fight! If you are willing to use your Power for good and start a fundraising page, please head to our campaign page here. We have 15 weeks until Wade's Day, Novemeber 12th. That is a lot of time to make an impact in the world raising money to fund experimental trials and financially support families as they miss work or travel to treat their child.
